Large Leather Strop
Sole Survivor Leather, a Rye family affair, was founded in 1979. Steve Rye, has been making leather goods since the late 60's. Using carefully selected leathers, he designs, makes patterns, sources materials and creates original and creative collections of shoulder bags, belts, strops and other accessories. One of Steve's greatest joys is sharing this knowledge with his daughter, Annie Rye. Owner of Sole Survivor,Kay Rye, has been working together with Steve since 1979, designing and making leather goods. In addition to running the business end of things, Kay's specialty is creating one of a kind sculptural leather pieces, molding and shaping the hides into interesting vessels or wall hangings.
Annie Rye's work at Sole Survivor includes making wallets, satchels and shoulder bags. Her appreciation of color has been instrumental in helping to expand the shop's offerings beyond the usual earth tones! Annie loves hand-sewing luxury leathers into one of a kind bags.
